So who is Kevin O'Regan?
"Whether solo, in a duo or with his band, Kevin will have any audience completely engaged. His songs will make you laugh, cry and sing."
Kevin occasionally performs solo but more often as either a duo with Kevin Ward on bass or with the Kevin O'Regan Band.
The Kevins and Holler n Duck
Kevin O'Regan is a talented songwriter, whose original folk songs are guaranteed to have an audience singing; he writes songs of great wit and modern ballads of extraordinary sensitivity. He is an accomplished guitarist and pianist and a seasoned performer. His irrepressible wit enlivens any show.
Kevin Ward is a superb five string fretless bass player who makes it an instrument in its own right. His use of chords and harmonics brings real colour and texture to the sound and he also occasionally sings!
As The Kevins, the repertoire is a varied mixture of reflective, comic and up-tempo songs all with great choruses. As Holler n Duck, all the songs are comic and the repartee between the two Kevins is hilarious.
Both The Kevins and Holler n Duck have been featured on BBC Radio Oxford and Horton Radio.
The Kevin O'Regan Band
Exuberant, varied, entertaining. These words sum up the band. Kevin O'Regan's songs are the driving force behind the band which can successfully engage audiences in a concert setting or when playing in a bar. Adjusting the set to suit the occasion allows the band to play in all sorts of venues: beautiful ballads are balanced with up-tempo, foot-tapping songs many with an Irish flavour.
As well as the two Kevins (see above) the band features Rai Clews on percussion - mainly cajon. Rai is a very experienced cajonista who also plays with Rogue State Circus and Kismet Hardy. His cajon can tap gently behind a folk ballad or sound like a full kit when driving along the sound of the up-tempo songs.
The Kevin O'Regan Band is a popular choice for Folk Festivals and events such as steam fairs and waterways events. The KORB has played main stage sets at Banbury Folk Festival, Crick Boat Show and Shackerstone Family Festival to name but a few. They expect to increase their folk festival performances in the coming year or two as well as maintaining their commitment to other events.
A live performance of The Kevin O'Regan Band has been featured on Radio Horton.
"Having already released two professionally recorded, full-length solo albums (Never Look Back, Mean Little River), O'Regan is an up-and-coming British folk musician to look out for."
